My twins are 2.5 and know most of their letters, so I have been looking for an app that would help them learn to write them. Of course they are still young, so I am not expecting a lot from them. I have tried multiple writing apps to find something that is toddler-ish friendly and well done. I think this app fits the bill.
There are three writing options for each letter, the first one, it mostly draws it for you in a cute animated way, the second you draw it and then it is animated. The third is more freehand, nothing to trace, so obviously trickier for the littles. I like that if they are struggling it shows more prompts, as in one arrow, or a tracing arrow line.
But it is still a title trick for those with less fine motor skills. My little one gets frustrated when he tries over and over and its not close enough to be accepted and he has to start over. But even with that, and only having a-e on the lite version, they both seem to like it. I have not bought the paid full version yet, but I am sure I will soon.
